Bath Time

I don't know about you, but I LOVE the water! It's a good thing I do, because I seem to need a lot of baths. Almost every time I go outside to play, I need a bath! Dad says it's because I like to dig and play in the mud so much.

Bath time is always a big deal at our house. Mommy puts me in the tub and gets the soap ready, while Dad takes of my collar and tags. Next, they get the water temperature just right (don't want to burn my toes!). Mom always offers me a drink from the shower head. Yum...fresh water from the tap! After a few licks, it's time to get wet!

It takes both Mom and Dad to get me washed from head to toe. A little soap, a nice massage... I have to stand real still, which is kind of hard to do. I mean, you know how it is when you get wet, right? You're tempted to shake. I did that a few times.... Mom and Dad got all wet and they weren't real happy with me.

After a few minutes of suds, it's time to rinse! That can take a while. Mom says they've got to make sure to get all the soap out of my fur. After the soap is gone, it's time to dry! I'm afraid of the hair blower (it's so loud!), so Mom and Dad wrap me up in a towel to get most of the water out of my coat and then, and this is my favorite part, they take me out onto the deck and let me SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE...for all I'm worth!!

A few minutes of shaking and I'm good to go! Once I'm dry, I get my collar and tags back. Clean and ready to play. Let's go digging!

They call me...The BUG HUNTER

A few nights ago, Mommy and Daddy were getting ready for bed and they had already tucked me into my bed (I have my own bed on the floor at the foot of Mommy and Daddy's bed. Though, I much prefer to sleep with them in their big bed, I hardly get away with it..hehe). I was really sleepy, but suddenly I caught the sent of something I had been chasing around the floor earlier. My nose just seemed to take over!

Left, right, to Daddy's closet, around the side of the bed, back towards the door....Where is IT?? My nose ran around the floor trying to pin-point my prey. Mom and dad were looking at me funny, trying to figure out what I was doing.

"Zoey, go to bed." Mommy told me. But my nose wouldn't let me listen. Then Daddy got on the floor with me. I think he was lookin' for it too!! He looked under the bed and my nose followed his lead! And then...

THERE IT IS!! I saw it crawling under Mom's side of the bed. Oh no!! Mommy HATES bugs!! I had to move fast! I ran around to the other side of the bed, I ran right past Daddy. "What is it, Zo?" Daddy asked me, but I didn't have time to answer him. I had to get to it before it got away!

I corned it and pounced! Got it Dad! I looked up at Daddy and whined. "Good girl! Good girl! Get it ZoZo!" Daddy grabbed one of Mommy's shoes and smashed the bug. Dead...

My work done, my tummy rubbed for being a good bug finder, I turned in for the night. All in a night's work for me....The Bug Hunter!

And the Tip goes Down...

Ok, I know mom and dad have told me lots of times to STAY OUT OF THE TRASH in the bathroom. But you should SEE all the things in there!! It's just so TEMPTING! I like the toilet paper, and the paper rolls, those are fun to roll and chase along the floor. Sometimes I find a stringy thing that tastes like mint YUM... I think dad calls it...floss??

Well...tonight I was sniffin' around the bathroom floor and I found a Q-Tip. I guess it smelled good, 'cuz I grabbed it and next thing I know, mom's yelling at me to DROP IT!! She was trying to pull my mouth open and I was doing my best to swallow the Q-TIP before she could see it! No good. She saw it, but she couldn't reach it and I took one big swallow and down it went! GONE! Needless to say, mommy told me I was a bad girl for getting into the trash again and she sent me to my bed.

After some pouting, I asked to go outside. Mom let me out, and when I came back in, I needed my paws washed like always (you know how it is. You go outside to pee, then you GOT to dig a little, right?). So mom put me in the tub and washed the mud off my paws. When she was done, she left me to my adventures. BIG mistake! My curiosity got the best of me and I soon found myself sniffing through the trash in the bathroom again. This time, I found a paper towel that smelled like fun. So, being the inquisitive pup I am, I grabbed it and ran! I only had it half gone when mom found me in all my glory.

More pouting in my bed, and now mommy tells me I'm not allowed to play in the bathroom any more. But that's where my favorite rug to lay on is!! I guess I was a bad girl. But I know mommy still loves me. She just doesn't want me to get hurt eating something I shouldn't. I guess I'll have to stick with the food in my bowl and the bugs in the grass!

My diggs

This is my house my daddy and grandpa's built for me. As you can see I'm in the process of doing some landscaping. Dad's not thrilled with what I have done to the yard, especially when he tries to mow. But hey, what can I say, I have to keep up with the other dogs in the neighborhood. And besides I only dig after it rains, the ground is nice and soft - just the way I like it prepped and ready for exploration.

Welcome to my world

HI! My name is Zoey Mae and welcome to my world...I was born May 16th 2004 to a little lemon and white Beagle. My daddy was a tri-color, just like me!! And while I liked it there with my birth mommy and daddy, I knew one day my REAL mommy and daddy would come for me....

And they did!! At 12 weeks old, a nice lady and man came to see me and my brother and sister. And while my litter mates poured on the charm, running around, jumping and rolling over in the grass, I'm the one who won them over. My secret?? I played hard to get...hehehe..

And so, I said good-bye to my littler mates, licked my birth parents good-bye, and turned my tail towards a new life with a family that loves me. And so, my adventure begins!
